Participant Testimonial

Darren F.

“My son Elijah attended the learn to play basketball clinic for autistic kids in 2024. It was such a positive, welcoming, and fun experience for him which really ignited his passionate in basketball and since then he has commenced playing for a basketball team (prior to this any sports were a struggle). The program caters for autistic children of all abilities with little/no basketball experience and was just a really fun time for all the participants in a safe space. We are grateful to the coaches and also to guest coach Tiana Mangakahia (Sydney Flames player/assistant coach who came down for a session) – for their time and guidance – it was such an immersive and warm experience. Also, a big thanks to Ceara who is an incredible person who co-ordinates and champions this program, and for City of Sydney Basketball for hosting. Would definitely recommend the program for all neurodivergent children.”
