Ben Madgen Joins the Sydney Comets

The Sydney Comets announced today that Ben Madgen has joined the club as the new Development Manager replacing Paul Mellett who has decided to return home to Melbourne after nearly 18 years with the club.
Ben’s playing career spanned over 15 years of experience at the collegiate and professional level. Starting at Augusta State University (USA) where Ben was the captain of the team 2008 – 2010.
His professional career began with the Sydney Kings in 2010. Ben was selected as the captain of the Sydney Kings 2012 to 2015. He was also a member of the Australian Boomers National Team from 2011 to 2016.
Ben’s overseas experience consisted of playing in the European Basketball League from 2015 to 2019. Playing with teams in Belgium, Lithuania, and Germany. Ben’s last season of competitive basketball was as a member of the newly formed NBL franchise, the South East Melbourne Phoenix in 2019-2020.
In addition, Ben has a Master of Business from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management. Ben was a Blues Award Recipient, from Macquarie University, its most prestigious sports award.
Ben’s achievements both as a player and his educational qualifications makes Ben the perfect match for the aims and goals of CSBA. Ben’s strong communication skills, relationship building, and problem-solving abilities makes him the ideal candidate to help CSBA develop and grow into the future.
